Lamborghini Builds 12,000th Gallardo

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Bicolore

The Italian carmaker is celebrating an important milestone for a supercar manufacturer: the assembly of the 12,000th Gallardo.

Although 12,000 units may not sound like a lot, the milestone represents quite an accomplishment for a that expensive super car. It took Lamborghini 10 years to reach this result and the explanation is quite simple: all cars built by Lamborghini are manually assembled at the company’s plant in Sant’Agata and the Gallardo has received a lot of special editions throughout its life.

In comparison, the Gallardo’s bigger brother – the Murcielago – sold just 4,099 units during its ten-year production run from 2001 to 2010
