VIENNATIME 2011

VIENNATIME 2011

A Universe of Fine Watches

A whole weekend all about international watch novelties: Austria’s renowned watch exhibition presents a great number of the world’s most important watch labels with their latest top models. For aficionados and people interested in watches, the Viennatime offers a broad variety of the latest innovations in the field of the high watch making art and the finest mechanics. This is also the opinion of people responsible for certain watch labels, like Henrik Ekdahl, General Manager IWC Northern Europe: “The Viennatime makes it possible for interested watch lovers to get an excellent overview of the watch market. Where else could they see such a multitude of labels and watches in one place without any obligation to buy? The date in November is well chosen also from the point of view of the manufacturers. Personally, I find it very inspiring to be able to talk with our clients or people who might in time become our clients. I am happy that we shall be there this year for the eleventh time already.”

Watch Highlights from VIENNATIME 2011-On the one hand, rarely an event shows as many important watch labels under one roof. And on the other, the special allure of the exhibition lies in the presentation of the labels, which, though varied, is compact and therefore manageable. This is one more reason for the Viennatime to have long become the most important exhibition of the watch industry.“ Participation at the Viennatime offers us an opportunity to publicize our label in Austria; also, it gives us the unique opportunity to talk about Corum with the final user. As representative of the label I do welcome this kind of informative exhibitions; I really enjoy them, especially as my dealings are usually with the jewellers rather than with the consumers”, says Iris Meßner-Teriet, Marketing & Consumer Manager, Authorised Signatory Corum Deutschland GmbH.

The respective labels’ representatives will take time to explain complicated technical details, and some of the world’s best watch makers will allow the public to look them over the shoulder. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, quite agrees: “The Viennatime’s exclusive platform is ideally adapted to give a broad public a closer understanding of the fascination of watch making by providing selective consumer informations. For the visitors of this exhibition, it will be a very special, even a unique experience to see watches, to feel watches, to ‘understand’ watches thanks to competent expert guidance.”

Andrea Kästner, Business Manager for Northern Europe for Girard-Perregaux, also stresses the very special atmosphere: “No other comparable exhibition offers such a multitude in leading watch labels to people interested in watches. For us, it gives us the chance for a direct dialogue with potential clients, for the public’s straight feedback about our label.” As each year, the participants in the “Election of the Watches of the Year” may look forward to a number of valuable prizes.

Altogether, there will be more than 100 producers participating in the Viennatime and the Diamond Vienna, the two shows occupying both levels in the exhibition hall of the MAK - Museum for Applied Arts / Contemporary Arts in Vienna.
